One Country, Many Stories

Description

To reinforce the theme 'Malaysia, Truly Asia', some of the strongest supporting elements include characters of different races or ethnicities, buildings, Malaysia's flora and fauna, and Malaysia's flag. This umbrella design features seven connecting faces of my artwork, starting from the center with its theme and Malaysia's flag elements to other sides featuring one transportation leading up to Malaysia's diversity of elements.

The umbrella comprises a unity of bright, vibrant colours to accentuate positivity and harmony so it uplifts the user's mood during a gloomy, rainy day. The simplicity of shapes and forms is easy to understand, making it universally fun for everyone to explore and discover this design's elements.
Each element tells a story. For example, the hibiscus is the unity symbol and national flower, the Twin Towers represent Malaysia's innovation and progress, and the mosque is a place for prayers and remembrance of God.

Four people of different races ride in a car to symbolize unity of all races as we all learn and discover the diversity of our beautiful, multicultural country. Other than creating a sense of connection, I hope this fully-illustrated design inspires and energizes the viewers, especially local artists, to always see the beauty of Malaysia's surroundings and express their love for it. I also hope that it reminds the viewer to cherish the environment to preserve Malaysia's natural heritage.
