Save Sea Turtle Calendar

According to WWF®, nearly all species of marine turtles are endangered, and those that aren't are considered threatened. All sea turtles found in US waters are classified as endangered or threatened by the federal government. Thousands of juvenile turtles hatch each year and go on a trip from the southeast coast of the United States to the Atlantic Ocean. Only one out of every 10 thousand marine turtles survives to adulthood today. Humans hunt them down for their eggs, flesh, skin, and shells. With the “Seaworld-Inspired” theme, we can indirectly raise awareness about the importance of caring for extinct habitats especially sea turtles. Sea turtles are endangered for a variety of reasons, some of which are natural and others which are human-caused. Artificial illumination, shell trades, garbage, and harvesting for human food are all threats to sea turtles.
